My Father's Son by Terri Fields

My Father's Son is a very emotional book because the story is filled with drama, mystery and a million percent of suspense. The main character, Kevin, faces challenges at his school because his father is falsely accused of being a serial killer. I would rate this book 20 billion out of a 1 through ten scale!!!!!!!!!!!!

Newes From the Dead by Mary Hooper

The book Newes From The Dead is a wonderful read! I loved how with each chapter the perspective is changed between one of the doctors and Anne. I love Anne's tragic story. The reality of it all is astounding because you can not exactly say what did or did not happen. I highly recommend this book to any reader in the eighth grade or higher.

Being then convicted and sentenced to hang, she loses all hope. Anne survives the hanging, and awakens on the dissection table a couple of hours later. This is a good book that is appropriate for teenage and above readers.

The Night Children by Kit Reed

The Night Children was a very engaging book about children who spend all their time in the largest mall in the world because they live there. Normally there isn't much trouble and the many 'gangs' of children who live there manage to get along without much trouble. When a new girl finds herself lost in the mall and being held by the Dings, the bad gang, it causes everyone to need to react. Everything isn't solved when the good guys come to the rescue as the owner of the mall begins to unfold his master plan which isn't something that anyone expected. Although it was slightly confusing to keep up with everything that was going on towards the beginning of the novel it became addicting once you began to understand who was who and all that was going on. The plot was really interesting, and just when you thought that there couldn't be much more too it, another twist was added in to keep your interested and wanting more. It was a great book, one that I'd recommend to others to read.

This book was a very good reading experience. Fictitious elements make the book a wild and crazy ride. I gave this book eight out of ten stars. The book did drag along at the end uneventfully, but that made the climax that much better.

The book "The Night Children" was a little boring to me. I love stories about female knights and magic. And although the idea of different gangs of children hiding in a mall is exciting, it just does not appeal to me.

Larry and the Meaning of Life by Janet Tashjian

Larry And The Meaning Of Life
was a clever and engaging book. Josh Swensen’s Struggle to recover from his failed campaign is clear throughout the novel, and as he is Sucked into the staged terrorism act fabricated by his loved ones I was nearly as Shocked as he. As the reader, I also found that I was able to easily connect with Josh, making his ordeal clear and comprehensible from his point of view. Some particularly commendable aspects of this novel are the great cliffhangers, Josh’s unique way of communicating with his dead mother, and the clever footnotes really help you realize what a clever person Josh really is. I recommend this book for ages 12-17, and award this gripping book 8.5 out of 10 stars.
