Peace. Locomotion by Jacqueline Woodson
Peace, Locomotion was a very interesting book. The book is written like a letter. Lonie is writing to his sister about everything he did that day. It may not sound interesting but when you think about what this kid is thinking it's really amazing. His foster brother lost his leg in a war but they still became close when he let his hard shell fall. It's humbling to read this book and see how much of a difference there is between this city kid's life and mine. He isn't allowed much time to watch TV when we watch it too much. I don't really know when this book was set in time but it just seems so sweet.
