Various Positions by Martha Schabas
The book Various Positions is, in a word, sinful. It is about two issues. Primarily sex. Not so primarily, ballet. A 14 year old girl at a very prestigious high school for ballet students misleads herself to believe that her teacher wants to have sex with her. She is constantly thinking about what she will do when he makes his advances as he will, no doubt, in their private rehearsal. She imitates dirty poses on the internet and buys skimpy lingerie. She is so twisted.
Aside from all the sex nonsense, this book gives a very true interpretation of the ballet world. As the focus of the book was elsewhere, however, I can conclude that it is inappropriate. I would not recommend this book.
