Finding My Place by Traci L. Jones
Tiphanie Jayne Baker is a spirited high schooler who had just been uprooted from her home town to Colorado, and was forced to attend an only white school. She is the only colored girl there in the year of 1975. She is bullied by a meat headed guy and hates her life until she befriends Jackie Sue. They become fast friends and suddenly life seems bearable. Her parents, though, are disapproving of a white friend. Her relationships with her parents and old friends start to fray as some secrets about Jackie Sue's mom comes to light.
I think that this is a very good book and would definitely recommend it to someone else. It is about dealing with racism and how other people have differences.
