Midwinter Blood by Marcus Sedgwick
Midwinter Blood starts out as a book about an aspiring journalist who goes to a mysterious island where the inhabitants supposedly live forever. As he explores the island with a woman named Merel he feel she has been to the island before. But due to a strange turn of events he remembers terrible nightmares from his childhood, each of them connecting to Blessed Island.
Midwinter Blood is an interesting book but as you read it confuses you. Part way through you notice patterns in the stories and you can start to figure out how they are connected. It's a page turner because you want to know how they're all connected. I didn't really like it at first, but as I read on I didn't want to put it down because I needed to know what would happen.
