Curses! Foiled Again by Jane Yolen
Curses! Foiled Again is a graphic novel about a girl named Aliera, a girl that is amazing at fencing. Her mother brings home a fencing foil one day and Aliera becomes the defender of the hidden world of fairies. Using her new foil she must protect the human and fairy world from trolls and other evil creatures trying to destroy the peace.
Curses! Foiled Again was a decent book, but it was definitely one of those books that you need to read in order. Curse! Foiled Again is actually the second in the series and, although they do give you background information, it still seems like you've missed a lot of information. The idea is very original and it was a decent read.
