Ten Good and Bad Things About My Life (So Far) by Ann M. Martin
Ten Good and Bad Things About My Life (So Far) is about a girl named Pearl Littlefield. She is very excited about the super exciting summer vacation she is going to have with her family. But the worst thing ever happens - her dad loses his job. So the whole family has to cancel their trip. It was a very hard time on the family. They had to switch all of their name brand products to the BASICS generic version. They had to go to fancy restaurants only once in a while and they went from the pizzeria to the freezer pizza. This change made everyone in the family try to help. Pearl's sister Lexie is 14 years old and she goes around looking for jobs like babysitting, chores, etc. Pearl doesn't want to feel little and tries to help. Will Pearl and her friend JBIII overcome their fight to become friends and try to help out Pearl's family? Or will they keep fighting?
I thought this book was very funny and showed kids to be thankful for what they have. I give this book a 4 out of 5.
